"Jewish America on Screen" shows a selection of US feature and documentary films that deal with Jewish life in the United States. The films tell of immigration and new beginnings, of religion and everyday life, of family, belonging and social change. The focus is on the question of how Jewish experiences in the 20th century are portrayed on the big screen. At the same time, the films shed light on the relationship between the Old World and the USA, as the center of Judaism shifted there alongside Israel after the Shoah.
