When software developers sit pensively at the windows of their office tower, when university staff interrupt their seminars and market traders swing merrily to the beat, then a season of its own has dawned in the central German cultural city of Jena.

Since 1992, the Kulturarena has been bringing a summery lifestyle to the city and region.
With globally tuned ears, the festival seeks out artists according to its very own quality criteria - with its finger on the pulse of the times and sometimes deliberately bypassing the conventional.

Introduced by a four-day theatrical spectacle, the festival alternates between films, concerts, a Sunday children's program and various specials.
