The Schloss Britz Cultural Foundation was founded in 1989 to ensure the long-term preservation and operation of Schloss and Gutshof Britz and to ease the burden on the Neukölln district authority. Supported by civic commitment and donations, the foundation manages the historic ensemble of Schloss & Gutshof Britz and organizes a diverse cultural programme. Alongside the music school and the Neukölln Museum as the main municipal users of the estate, the Kulturstiftung Schloss Britz assumes responsibility for the cultural heritage of the former manor house and develops event formats that combine culture, tradition and modernity. The aim, mission and obligation is to develop Schloss & Gutshof Britz into a place of identification with local history, nature and environmental issues as well as contemporary positions in the arts and to make it usable and tangible for all sections of the population.
