KURZFILMTAG is Germany's biggest day of action dedicated to short films. Whether cinema or classroom, cultural center or living room - from December 15 to 21, we celebrate the diversity of short film. From moving to bizarre, from political to poetic: short films tell great stories in short form - condensed, creative and surprising.

Around the shortest day of the year, 21 December, we are inviting you to organize your own events for the 14th time. Everyone can take part - with our curated film programmes, your own short films or completely individual formats.

In 2025, the motto of SHORT FILM DAY is: NOW!

Now is the moment to act, to create, to tell stories - not later, but right now.

The motto encourages people to look, get involved and actively shape the present.

At the same time, JETZT! invites you to consciously experience the moment - in images, sounds and emotions. Short films show the now: direct, intense, touching.
