The Lew Kopelew Forum at Neumarkt 18 cultivates cultural exchange and West-East encounters. In the spirit of the great humanist and writer Lev Kopelev, events are offered primarily on Central and Eastern European topics: Questions on current political, social and cultural developments and human rights in Eastern Europe as well as historical reappraisal are the focus of the work, as is the networking of East-West activities and humanitarian aid for Eastern European countries.

On a 100 m² exhibition and event area, West-East encounters take place through lectures and discussions. Cultural exchange takes place at readings, concerts and exhibitions.

In 2011, the Lew Kopelew Forum was awarded the "Unity Prize - Citizens' Prize for German Unity" by the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb).
