The Literature Center was founded by Hamburg authors in 1974 to promote literature and its dissemination to the public.

Today, the LIT is a place for readings, discussions, debates and encounters with authors, translators, publishers, initiatives and with you. We bring voices together, make new perspectives visible and create spaces for literature.
