For the fifth time, Literatur am Dom, curated by Denis Scheck and Karin Graf, is bringing world literature to the Bergisches Land region. Open-air readings with Kristof Magnusson, Anja Kampmann, Leonie Swann and many more will take place in the shadow of Altenberg Cathedral from June 25-28, 2026. Hanns-Josef Ortheil will open the festival on Thursday, June 25, with his Wuppertal novel Schwebebahnen. Literary and culinary highlights are also on the program with a reading dinner and kitchen party at the Altenberger Hof. The event will conclude with readings by Nora Gomringer and Nino Haratischwili on Sunday afternoon, hosted by Bettina Böttinger.
