Martin Rütter - A life with dogs

Martin Rütter was born in 1970 and grew up in the "Ruhrpott", in Duisburg-Homberg. He preferred to spend his childhood and youth on "the field". At that time, however, not on the dog training ground, but on the soccer pitch. As a sports enthusiast and soccer fan in particular, it was clear to him early on that he would at least become a national soccer player. This professional dream, which of course was not meant to be completely serious, failed due to his rudimentary running skills. "Sports reporter" was then the realistic alternative - and it almost happened. After leaving school, he studied sports journalism at the German Sport University in Cologne.

Another great passion also took hold in his early youth: an interest in dogs, their behavior and the relationship between humans and dogs. After studying animal psychology, Martin finally decided to pursue this career path. It may have been a bitter loss for the sporting world, but his decision was a great stroke of luck for the dogs. In 1995, he founded his first dog school and developed a unique philosophy for the individual and partnership-based training of humans and dogs! Since then, he has trained around 380 dog trainers to become dog trainers, who, after successfully completing their studies, open their own dog school in their region and help people and dogs on their way to harmonious coexistence. There is now a network of over 150 dog schools in Germany, Austria, South Tyrol, Mallorca, Liechtenstein and Switzerland that work according to Martin Rütter's philosophy.

Since 2003, millions of viewers have regularly followed Martin on television and looked over his shoulder as he worked with people and dogs. "Der Hundeprofi - Rütters Team" (VOX), "Die Unvermittelbaren" (RTL) and other formats with Martin are now an integral part of the German television program. Martin Rütter is also the author of many bestselling books (over 1.5 million copies sold) and a very special kind of entertainer.

His legendarily funny, uniquely entertaining live shows have been seen by more than 2.5 million viewers to date. From October 2026, Martin Rütter will be going on a big farewell tour with his new live program "SCHLUSS! AUS!" will go on a major farewell tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
