The student choir of the Düsseldorf Medical Faculty - better known as "Medichor" - is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The annual memorial service for body donations by third-year students originally laid the foundation for the project. Due to the shared enthusiasm for singing, the one-off project has developed into a choir that has become a permanent, professional part of the image of the local Faculty of Medicine. Today, it has around 100 members and has been a registered association since 2016. With people who have been making music from an early age, others who are singing for the very first time and everyone in between, the Medichor offers a space to make music together. Whether making music, conducting, organizing or simply singing - there is something for everyone here. From classical music to Japanese film music, Italian computer game music or even classical pop - all styles of music are welcome here. Want to know more about us? In addition to large end-of-semester concerts every semester in the largest lecture hall at Heinrich Heine University, the Medichor also traditionally performs at graduation and doctoral ceremonies at the university. The choir is now known nationwide - not least because it reached the final of the WDR television show "The Best Choir in the West" (2016).
