Mie Neko is a Shibari artist and teacher from the Ruhr area and started practicing this art in 2017.

Shibari is a Japanese-inspired bondage art that focuses on the process of bondage itself rather than forcing a specific result. This practice goes far beyond physical sensations and places particular emphasis on the emotions evoked by the restraints. The restraints create a unique connection based on trust and relinquishing control. They open up new possibilities to connect with each other and combine bodywork with emotional depth.

Since 2020, she has been present as a teacher and performer at national and international events, while also organizing her own events and workshops.

In her teaching, she is particularly keen to incorporate her expertise as a female rigger, while also focusing on ropemodel development and rope safety. And, of course, how to establish an emotional connection using rope as a communication medium.
