Affordable housing, more public transportation, quality education, culture, and sports in the neighborhood—the issues and ideas that motivated activists and initiatives over 30 years ago to found Moabiter Ratschlag e.V. as an umbrella organization for their commitment to “bottom-up urban development” in Moabit remain highly relevant today.
The umbrella organization evolved into a supporting association in the Mitte district that combines social work and urban development through its projects and facilities. Moabiter Ratschlag is active in many professional and political networks and committees. Its foundation remains the active local community.

We are committed to ensuring that people can experience community and solidarity, get involved, and continue to grow. We offer programs for young and old and promote cultural diversity.

Everyone should be able to participate, regardless of income. That’s why many of our programs are free of charge. Our goal is an active urban community that works to ensure the city is there for everyone—affordable, climate-friendly, and inclusive.
