Since 2017, the Moovy dance film festival has been transforming the Filmforum at the Museum Ludwig into a lively meeting place for dance, film and digital art in Cologne. In addition to captivating dance films, Moovy offers a platform for immersive productions - including works in virtual, augmented and mixed reality that allow dance to be experienced in a completely new way.

Moovybuilds bridges - between dance, film and technology, between established artists and emerging talents. The focus is on the exchange between choreographers, dancers and media artists - supported by the festival program as well as accompanying projects and collaborations.

A special focus is placed on interdisciplinary research and teaching. Innovative projects at the interface of choreography, technology, AI and storytelling are created in collaboration with universities such as the ifs Cologne, Witten/Herdecke University, the Center for Contemporary Dance (ZZT) and the KHM.

The annual symposium on dance and digitality is also a permanent fixture, complemented by a diverse education program with workshops and educational offerings for schools and young dance enthusiasts.

Moovy has a supra-regional and international impact: the festival is regularly represented with curated programs on renowned stages, platforms and in partner institutions - in Germany and beyond.
