PARABEL - Center for Art in Hamburg

PARABEL is a new place in Hamburg dedicated entirely to the art of the city and its artists. It is all about appreciation, recognition and visualization - about stories, perspectives and positions that shape Hamburg's art history.

PARABEL has found its home in the former Nikodemus Church. The special architecture, whose shape is reminiscent of a parable, makes the building itself part of the experience: here, art meets space, history and society at eye level.

The PARABEL is more than just a museum - it combines exhibition, research and education. The focus is on Hamburg artists and their works, which are viewed from different perspectives and brought into conversation in new ways. The basis is the Dr. Maike Bruhns Art Collection Foundation with over 3,500 works - the starting point for exhibitions that also shed light on unknown chapters of the city's history.

At the same time, PARABEL is a meeting place: a space for lectures, concerts, readings and discussion events that bring art to life and promote exchange.
