The Queer Poetry Gala is a monthly event series that takes place in various cities in the Ruhr region, including Bochum, Dortmund, and Essen.

It offers queer artists a platform to present their self-written texts in a safe and welcoming environment . Unlike traditional poetry slams , the focus here is not on competition but on exchange and community . The evenings feature not only the performances by artistsbut also discussions on the topics covered as well as interviews with well-known queer poetry slammers from North Rhine-Westphalia. The gala is hosted by Sven Hensel, a well-known poetry slammer and author. Admission is by donation, usually with a suggested contribution of 3€.

2nd Wednesday of the month: Queer Poetry Gala Bochum 

Third Tuesday of the month (except July/August): Queer Poetry Gala Essen 

4th Wednesday of the month (except July/August): Queer Poetry Gala Dortmund
