The socio-cultural center KuHstall e. V. is a regionally active cultural institution in the district of Leipzig, institutionally supported by the Leipzig cultural region. For over 25 years (founded in December 1998), it has been organizing cultural events, courses and projects with a wide range of objectives and dimensions, often in cooperation with partners.

Many of the themes of the cultural work arise from the history and conditions of the landscape. Be it lignite mining (industrial culture) and the creation of a new landscape (Leipziger Neuseenland) and the associated changes to the flora and fauna, the Oberholz forest area with its diverse sports, leisure and recreational functions, the Oberholz Botanical Garden or the themes surrounding the Battle of the Nations in 1813.

According to its statutes, the association's intention is to interest people in their region and their surroundings, to inspire them to take action and, ideally, to create an identity. Methodologically, experience and education are intertwined.

The association sees itself, in close consultation with the municipality of Großpösna, as a platform for various initiatives and projects that use the structure of the association: Premises, technology, know-how, insurance, personnel support. These include, for example, the Osterbrunnen, Marienbaum, Open Courtyards, Trippel-Trappel and Mining Technology Park projects. There are cooperation agreements with all partners. They contribute to some of the general costs (administration, operating costs).

The association also offers cultural experiences in all cultural genres as part of its programs (cabaret, readings, lectures, musical performances, excursions, etc.).

Particular attention is paid to cultural education projects and programs. These are primarily projects in the areas of ecology, experiencing nature and handicraft or creative work. Youth work (Großpösna youth club), which has been part of the association's work since 1.1.2019, also ties in with this.

All work is based on the so-called "broad" concept of culture, which understands culture as a place to shape life in the sense of equating society and culture.
