In order to provide guidelines for our work, the Board of Trustees adopted the following mission statement at its meeting on November 21, 2009.

We shape the future
by working together with others to strengthen social participation, human rights, social justice and environmental protection.

We connect people
by developing cooperation between non-governmental organizations and social movements in Europe and Asia and by promoting dialogue between civil society, academia, politics and business. We are committed to social movements and disadvantaged groups in society.

We promote insights
into the lives of people in Asia, into their political and social situation and into the situation of human rights and the environment. We promote understanding of the political, economic and cultural relations between Europe and Asia. We make connections clear: global - regional - local.
