A Tradition Since 2010

The Taunus Filmfest is an international film festival with a rich history: Every August since 2010, it has brought filmmakers from all over the world to Oberursel and the Taunus region. What began as a small short film festival has grown into an important hub for local, national, and international film culture.

Five Days of Film & Networking

The festival offers five days filled with selected short and feature-length films, workshops, networking events, and a diverse supporting program. The best films are awarded a total of 3,500 euros in prize money. The focus is on community: Here, industry professionals, filmmakers, and film fans come together to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and discover new perspectives together. The festival is a vibrant space for dialogue—film culture is actively lived here.

Spotlight Films – a different theme in focus every year

In addition to the regular competition categories, we present the Spotlight Awards each year—special honors for films that stand out in a thematic category selected by the Filmfest. This category changes annually and is dedicated to a current or socially relevant focus—such as food, integration, or the environment.

Strongly Networked

The Taunus Filmfest is a member of the Association of Hessian Film Festivals and a founding member of AG Filmfestival—and is actively committed to film culture and exchange.
