What is Treffpunkt Philosophie Neue Akropolis?

We are a school of philosophy in the classical sense, promote culture and work as volunteers. Philosophy is taught here in the classical way, which means that we always teach a practical reference to life, as was customary in ancient times. Our School of Philosophy is located in Leipzig, Munich, Nuremberg and Stuttgart.

No philosopher can call himself a "lover of wisdom" if he does not live accordingly.

Philosophy should inspire and lead to action, it should never just remain in the head. In this sense, New Acropolis is first and foremost about philosophy as a "way of life", and only secondarily about a "history of philosophy", which is more likely to be learned at university.

Who is New Acropolis suitable for?

New Acropolis is for people who want to discover more depth and meaning in their lives, develop their potential and actively work on solving the problems of our time.

What makes the school so special?

Neue Akropolis offers a comprehensive philosophical education through a wide variety of courses, seminars, lectures and excursions. At the same time, ecological projects for the preservation of natural landscapes, e.g. the stream sponsorship, take place.

All work is voluntary and no one is paid for courses or teaching activities.

How does the school work? How can I get started?

You have several opportunities to come into contact with the subject of philosophy.

1. Firstly, you can read a variety of our blogs on our website or take part in one of our events. You can find an overview of the lecture topics on our website.

2. If you would like to delve deeper into the topic, you can take part in our "Practical Philosophy" training course, which starts twice a year and runs for 19 evenings. You can find more detailed information here in Leipzig, Munich, Nuremberg and Stuttgart.
