THE UKRAINIAN FILM DAYS NRW were founded in 2023 and have since established themselves as an important cultural platform for German-Ukrainian dialog in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 2014, when Russia began its attack on Ukraine with the annexation of Crimea and the war in the Donbas - and since February 24, 2022, when the Russian full-scale attack began - cultural cooperation and the visibility of Ukrainian culture in Europe has become more important than ever.

For the fourth time, the Ukrainian Film Festival NRW is bringing contemporary Ukrainian cinema to the cities of North Rhine-Westphalia. The festival sees itself as a European cultural platform: Ukrainian cinematic art as a living part of the common European cultural heritage.
