UNERHÖRT! Music Film Festival Hamburg 2025

Five days full of films, music and encounters: The UNERHÖRT! Music Film Festival brings music to the big screen for the 19th time from October 29 to November 2, 2025 - at Metropolis, B-Movie and, for the first time, at Rineuto Lichtspiele Wilhelmsburg.

Whether intimate portraits of great voices, documentaries about subcultures and their unbroken energy or cinematic expeditions to cosmic sounds - our program shows how diverse music can be told for the big screen. Some films delve deep into personal stories, others shine a spotlight on political and social movements, while others simply celebrate the power of performance.

Many filmmakers will be there in person, there will be audience discussions, readings and an audiovisual performance in the Gängeviertel at the end.

This year's edition is all about cooperation - not just as an artistic principle, but as an attitude: music and film connect, create resonance spaces and open up new horizons. Both are arts of the community and are not created in isolation, but in the encounter of different talents, visions and disciplines. Music films also connect musicians, filmmakers and an audience that is willing to listen, resonate and think ahead, not always of the same opinion, but connected in exchange.
