The Collegium musicum of the University of Cologne shapes and represents the musical life of the university and offers both students and employees of the university as well as external interested parties a wide range of opportunities to experience music - as active participants in our ensembles as well as concert-goers.

The Collegium musicum's ten ensembles offer a wide range, from the large symphony orchestra and choir to chamber ensembles, jazz choir, big band and children's choir.
Concertgoers appreciate the UNIVERSITY CONCERTS as a varied concert series in which a wide variety of artists and ensembles perform as guests alongside the university ensembles.

The practice and experience of music as a group has a great influence on the well-being of all members of the university community, regardless of subject or status. University music also enriches the cultural landscape outside the campus and creates connections between the University of Cologne and the city's population. On concert tours and as part of national and international collaborations, the members of the University of Cologne's ensembles act as cultural ambassadors.
