Buntspecht is a six-piece band from Vienna. Founded in 2016 and since then in a constant process of celebrating new musical sides. Film music for movies that don't exist, or children's songs for grown-ups, atmosphere and ballads. Everything is allowed. Everything should. Everything must! The pieces move between ecstasy and melancholy, sadness and a mischievous grin, a lack of prospects and utopia, an affirmation of life and constantly nagging doubts. The group is known above all for the exuberant energy of their shows. Lively and brute, somnambulistic and astonished, mocking and dreamy, the band has created its own sound again and again in recent years - and with "Unter den Masken", they also happened to have a pandemic hit.10.11.2023 saw the release of the fifth album by Viennese band Buntspecht. "To the yesterday that never became tomorrow. I'm waiting" is a flaming appeal for analog spaces and the power of the collective.
