Chorwerk Ruhr - vocal art at the highest level

Chorwerk Ruhr is one of the most important chamber choirs in Germany and a true figurehead of the Ruhr metropolitan region. Since its foundation in 1999, the ensemble has inspired audiences with its ability to unite perfectly blended choral sound and soloistic precision. Chorwerk Ruhr shows how lively and moving choral music can be.

Under the artistic direction of multi-award-winning conductor Florian Helgath, there is a particular focus on placing new choral music in the context of music history. This creates connections between tradition and modernity that surprise and inspire the audience. Those who engage with these musical discoveries experience moments that are both profound and emotionally moving.

Chorwerk Ruhr collaborates with renowned conductors such as Kirill Petrenko, Kent Nagano and Sylvain Cambreling and regularly performs with renowned orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, Ensemble Resonanz and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. The ensemble is also a permanent fixture at international music festivals and is regularly recorded by WDR and Deutschlandfunk. Every year, Chorwerk Ruhr collaborates in a special way with the Ruhrtriennale.
