Federnelken

In the artist's words:

The feather carnations are a plant from the area in and around Munich and grow directly between the streets where everyday life takes place.
It is well known that contentment is a difficult goal to achieve, but carnation songs bring life back into harmony.

Although the carnations are robust and ideal for overwintering, there is never anything to oppose a sunny spot.
They like to speak plainly about love, politics and life in the city... just as it can happen when you live.

The lyrics are predominantly Bavarian - exactly the right language for the expression of their songs.
Because language is the soil of carnations, full of interesting nutrients.

Their musical style is reminiscent of Neue Deutsche Welle, but the Federnelken describe it as "popular music between Hirschbachstüberl and Mittlerer Ring". It is a guitar-heavy mixture - sometimes loud, sometimes very quiet. In any case, it is powerful, honest and blunt.

The Nelken have already played as Kim Wilde's support band and at various festivals in and around Munich. They are also winners of the German Pop and Rock Award.
