Garlands

In the artist's words:

On June 14, 2024 , the Berlin and Hamburg-based duo Garlands will release their second EP "Turn The Sky" on La Pochette Surprise Records. On 13.07.2024 we celebrate the release of "Turn The Sky" together with the 2019 EP "Condor" for the first time on vinyl. At the renowned Elbdeich Studio, Garlands will play an exclusive release concert with songs from the two EPs and other works.

With the current single "Polar Zones" , Garlands give the first taste of the EP. In the song, Garlands refer to Nietzsche's poem "From High Mountains" from his work "Beyond Good and Evil". Oscillating between melancholy and optimism, they celebrate the state of progress, liberation and transformation. Musically, he expresses himself in psychedelic loops and in the repeated formula "Only lonely pals who move remain with me", evoking a concept of youthfulness as mental agility that opposes numbness and nostalgia regardless of age: "Once I was young ... but now I'm better ... Young."
