In the artist's words:

Marlini Wickramasinha was born in Sri Lanka in 1934 and has lived in Germany since the 1960s. After studying literature in Peradeniya, she came to Munich in 1960 to study painting at the art academy. She has lived in Cologne for many decades, where she has created an impressive body of artistic work.

In her paintings, Marlini does not depict spectacular moments, but what remains after them - silence, emptiness, traces. She paints what history leaves behind: Debris, fragments, memories.

Her work has been shown in many exhibitions in Germany and internationally. She turned 90 in 2024 - this exhibition is a belated tribute to an artist whose work is as quiet as it is powerful.
