DOTA (Duo)

Berlin singer-songwriter Dota Kehr (formerly known as Kleingeldprinzessin) and guitarist Jan Rohrbach have been making music together since 2003 - initially under the name "Die Kleingeldprinzessin" and since 2013 as the band DOTA. The group, which has now grown to five members, tours regularly at home and abroad and has released 16 albums to date. They have worked with Brazilian musicians such as Chico Cesár and Danilo Guilherme and have been awarded the German Record Critics' Award and the Fred Jay Prize, among others. In 2021, the album Wir rufen dich, Galaktika made it into the top ten of the German charts. In 2020, DOTA set texts by the poet Mascha Kaléko to music - the project was so successful that a second Kaléko album followed in 2023. Both works contain duets with artists such as Clueso, Hannes Wader and Alin Coen. Dota is politically engaged, but remains self-critical and poetic. No answers, just songs - and they are honest, clever and approachable.
