Forget what you think you know about live techno. Forget drum machines, laptops and pre-recorded loops. Komfortrauschen is a live techno band that looks and sounds like no other.
For ten years now, Laurenz Karsten, Phillip Oertel and Tim Sarhan have been reconstructing techno live in an innovative way. With guitar, bass, drums and a multitude of effects units, they create the hard-hitting, unapologetic sound of a Prodigy-style rave with the machine-like precision of a Richie Hawtin DJ set. A punk band trapped in a drum computer.
With Komfortrauschen there are no beautiful melodies and no dreamy chords. Their screeching acid guitar lines put a 303 to shame, the monotonous bass lines take you deep into the darkness, the visceral drum breaks and fat drops make you lose yourself in the moment.
