Lorenzkantor Michael Riedel

In the artist's words:

Michael Riedel began his musical career as a boy singer in the Windsbach Boys' Choir and studied organ and piano at the Bayreuth College of Church Music. Further studies took him to the music academies in Düsseldorf, Cologne and Rotterdam, where he was influenced by Johannes Geffert, Torsten Laux, Hayo Boerema, William Tanke and Ben van Oosten on the organ and by Reiner Schuhenn Georg Christoph Biller and Gernot Sahler in choral and orchestral conducting. He worked as a church musician in Düs-
seldorf, Bonn-Bad Godesberg and Frankfurt am Main. He has been Lorenzkantor in Nuremberg since 2025 and is responsible for the music at Bavaria's largest Protestant church with one of the largest organ systems in the world. As a concert organist, conductor and chamber music partner, he performs throughout Europe as well as in the USA and Korea and can be heard regularly at renowned festivals, in major concert halls and churches.
