Christian Tielmann, born in 1971 in Wuppertal, has never (professionally) done anything other than read and write: He studied German and philosophy in Freiburg and Hamburg and published his first children's and young adult books while still a student. He has since written around 80 picture books, children's books (both short stories and non-fiction) and books for young people for various publishers. His works have won several awards and have been translated into 24 languages to date. His first novel for adults was published in 2019: "Unsterblichkeit ist auch keine Lösung. A Goethe-Schiller disaster".
