Also affectionately referred to as the "Godmothers of Irish Soul", the Mahones, born in 1987, are once again spreading an undiminished Cologne-Irish attitude to life with their mixture of Irish, folk, pop, punk and bluegrass after their reunion. With tours in the 90s and noughties in Germany and the surrounding European countries, they provided the first musical and powerful answer to the "Pogues" and can look back on many followers.
