Malummí

In the artist's words:

Malummí's music casts a spell over you - it is wild and exhilarating at the same time. The Basel trio made their debut in 2021 with "Blood", an intimate album that combines indie, electronica and folk with raw emotion and vulnerability.

In November 2023, they released "The Universe Is Black" (Irascible Records), a bold foray into grunge-infused alternative rock and warm indie folk. The album was named "Album of the Week" by Swiss radio SRF3, featured on KEXP's "Sound & Vision" podcast and named "Album of the Year" by IndieSuisse. Led by singer and songwriter Larissa Rapold - whose voice is as expressive as it is unmistakable - and supported by Giovanni Vicari (guitar) and Lucas Zibulski (drums), the band creates an immersive soundscape reminiscent of Big Thief, PJ Harvey and Julia Jacklin.

Malummí's lyrics go into depth and question social norms and power structures in a patriarchal, white-dominated world. Her songs explore the complexity of relationships - with oneself, with others and with society.

After performing on stage with Teezo Touchdown, Mayberg, Uche Yara, Soft Loft and Anna Erhard and appearing at Luzern Live, Stars In Town and M4Music, among others, Malummí are now preparing for the release of their third album "Damaged By Their Silence" (March 2026).
