Growing into a trio, the Meagre Martin project led by African-American musician and songwriter Sarah Martin was soon joined by Federico "Freddy" Corazzini and Max Hirtz-Wolf. With a blend of lo-fi and new-Americana, Meagre Martin is a culmination of experience rooted in healing, through lyricism that adds new layers to nostalgia and harnesses the power of grief. Her debut GUT PUNCH creates a sound inspired by shoegaze, 90s indie, or "faux country," and juxtaposes these beautifully light soundscapes with lyrics whose vulnerability and depth belies the sweetness of the sound.
