Murel

In the artist's words:

Murel is a band from Munich founded in May 2024. Musically between jazz, funk and singer songwriter, its four members Francesca (voc), Kili (b), Jo (dr) and Julian (p) play exclusively their own compositions. Their greatest aspiration is to combine catchy melodies with harmonic and technical diversity to create innovative songs that cannot really be categorized in any genre.

Like any young band, Murel euphorically and wildly interweaves the influences of its four founding members in their songs.

Francesca: Singer and the organizational heart of the band. Her diverse background comes from Munich, Italy and Vienna. As manager, she makes sure that everything runs smoothly, even when she has a thousand things to do at the same time. She brings her positive energy to the group unfiltered, exuberant and with a periodic tendency towards chaos. But with her entrepreneurial thinking, self-discipline and "CEO mentality", she always stays on top of things.

Jo: drummer from Burghausen, is the technician and conceptualizer of the band. With his analytical approach, he brings structure to the rehearsals and significantly raises the average IQ of the band. As a tinkerer he is often in contrast to Francesca in creative dynamics, but his precise nature is the basis for all audible approaches of tightness and reproducibility in the band.

Kili: Bassist who is many things at the same time: equipment & supply manager, most experienced member of the group, meme of the band, the one with the best sense of humor. As the oldest member, he not only brings stage experience and self-confidence, but also a calm composure that grounds everyone. New to jazz, but all the more ambitious and accomplished, he enriches the band with his wisdom and his relaxed and focused approach.

Julian: Pianist, creative mind and the musical heart of the band. Without him there would be no songs, no gigs and no vision for the future. His songwriting skills are inspiring and each track reflects his deep personal experiences. Julian takes the audience on our unique musical journey that is as diverse and dynamic as his own life story. He also tends towards chaos, but uncontrolled, and his solos, transitions and chord progressions are the audible product of his euphoria in this band project.
