In the artist's words:

The performance collective notsopretty , consisting of Anna Júlia Amaral, Marcel Nascimento & Nina Weber, has been developing multimedia performances with video, choreography and music - on stage and in digital space - since 2019. What they have in common is their love of pop culture: notsopretty make use of its resources with relish and create works that playfully explore self-expression and identity constructions - based on origin, gender and sexuality. The collaboration of notsopretty is characterized by mutual inspiration, the endurance of friction, the fun of artistic work and the joy of pop. The various experiences from choreographic works, video, as well as stage and lecture performances form the basis of the group's aesthetic. For notsopretty, the choice of aesthetic means is always in dialog with the subject matter of the productions. They draw on pop culture to explore different artistic formats and forms of communication. Together they created the works Der Computer Nummer Drei (2019), Boyband (2021), GEMUSICAL (2024) and are currently working on Hinterlassenschaft: A House Full of Stuff (2025). Co-production partners and cooperation partners included Ringlokschuppen Ruhr Mülheim, Theater im Depot Dortmund and HochX Munich.
