SJS is no ordinary band, on the contrary: it is a band that was created especially for the "Träumen unter Bäumen" concert series and has the honour of being the first of 5 bands/artists to open this season of decentralized cultural spectacles.

For this occasion, the 4-piece Jazz Chimpanzee has come up with a sophisticated program of pieces. The audience will hear highlights of a special moment in music history, namely the moment in the 1960s when so-called hard bop evolved, transformed and produced something completely new, energetic and wild: it was the birth of funk.
