Influenced early on by his parents’ and grandparents’ records, Bosnian-born lead singer and songwriter Zlatko Pašalić blends the sounds of the 1960s with influences from the Balkans and the Middle East. His melodic songwriting combines poetic lyrics in English and Serbo-Croatian, often in harmonious polyphonic arrangements that cast the driving rhythms in a new light. Together with Rüdiger Sinn, Stray Colors is considered “one of the best songwriting duos since Lennon-McCartney” (BR Puls).
