The Upsetters - Psychedelic Swamp Blues

The Upsetters - that stands for psychedelic roots blues at its finest. Their music sounds rougher and swampier than ever, as if it came straight from the delta of the southern backwoods. The press describes the Upsetters' music as "earthy, crisp, groovy, broad" and as a "sultry swamp party" that penetrates the ear in "steamroller style".

The Upsetters are certainly one of the most interesting blues bands in Germany at the moment. They confidently combine traditional-acoustic country blues with the electric-brute sounds of rock, in short: The Upsetters celebrate hypnotic psycho-country blues in a class of its own on stage - and always with a country-punk attitude.

Uwe Placke's harp is one of the best that German blues has to offer. And he plays guitar. And he sings.

Rolf Kaiberg also sings. But above all he plays the lead guitar - captivating and unmistakable from the very first note.

Bassist Arnold "Nölli" Rissel and drummer Thomas Liesen form the hard grooving funky-rock rhythm machine of the Upsetters.
