Drunken Monkeys - The Whiskey Foundation

In the artist's words:

There are bands that are so good live that you go to see them two or three times a year, in the same city, even twice at the same venue. One of these charismatic live bands is The Whiskey Foundation from Munich. In these sacred hours, in which lead singer Murat Kaydirma brings the blues from a bygone century into the hall, shrouded in smoke and sweat, only the groove counts. The blues & rock'n'roll band can't be assigned an age group - mid-twentysomethings stand - correction - sway next to older semesters, the so-called hipsters next to those who seem to have just come home from the office. All that matters is what the five giants create on stage: handmade blues combined with a stage show of body and soul that makes it impossible to go home with dry clothes.

After "Take The walk" and "Mood Machine", the Whiskey Foundation's third album "Blues and Bliss" will be released on October 20, followed by a tour through Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic, which will end with a big release party at the Muffathalle on January 12, 2018.

We met lead singer Murat and guitarist Pascal for a beer at the end of August and holed up in the empty Muffathalle. They talk about days in the studio that resemble a stay in a youth hostel, their love of whiskey and reveal when they themselves become a Drunken Monkey. Special highlight: a recorded unplugged song that can be found on the new album.
