Tiavo: Genre without a drawer

Rap duo, collective, Neue Deutsche Welle, electropunk, indie alternative - Tiavo have already worn many labels in their career. And none of them really fit. That's exactly their thing. Since 2015, singer Leandros Miltiadis Nassioudis (aka Lucy) and producer Xaver Johannes Held (aka Janneslicht) have been making music together that is constantly reinventing itself without losing its line. Anyone who thinks they know Tiavo will be surprised by their next release.

From Saarbrücken to big stages: the Tiavo story

Founded in Saarbrücken at the end of 2015, Tiavo initially started out as a rap crossover duo. Their first album "Oh Lucy" (2018) made it straight into the top 25 of the German album charts - an impressive debut. A short time later, they were on stage supporting US rapper NF and even Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park. That was early, that was big - and it was just the beginning.

A collective that reinvents itself: Rap, rock and Neue Deutsche Welle

What began as a rap project became a rock experiment with the album "Raock" (2020, number 31 in the German charts) and went even further with "Geister die ich rief" (2021). Since 2022, Tiavo have opened a completely new chapter: stylistically somewhere between Neue Deutsche Welle, 80s electropunk and modern indie. The song "Pourqoi" (December 2022) marked the turning point. Since then, Tiavo can be found under hashtags such as #ndw and #neuedeutschewelle - and that sounds better than it sounds.

"amore abgrundtief": the new single dives deep

"amore abgrundtief" was released in May 2026 - the next 5-star anthem from the world of the upcoming album. Carried by a driving, hypnotic arrangement on the sweet spot between indie, alternative and dark pop: pulsating synths, shimmering guitar pads, a hook that immediately sits and never lets go. Intimacy meets escalation, melancholy meets euphoria - Tiavo dissolve opposites as if it were the easiest thing in the world.

"Hotel Tiavo" will be released in August 2026 - a double album that builds an entire world. In Hotel Tiavo, there are rooms that are best not entered and rooms in which you hopelessly lose yourself. Each track tells its own story, behind every door there are different fates, moods and extremes. The album is already available in advance - as a CD, as a limited edition red-transparent vinyl-2LP and even as a bundle with a bathrobe or tie. Because Tiavo are Tiavo.
