10. Big Band Festival Dortmund

The Dortmund Big Band Festival is a celebration for all fans of jazz and swing. The Big Band Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2024.

Since its inception, the festival has placed great emphasis on youth development and international exchange: in addition to excellent youth orchestras from the region - such as the Big Band of the Glen Buschmann Jazz Academy and the Burning Big Band Project of the Soest Music School - UniJAZZity, the highly acclaimed Westphalia Youth Jazz Orchestra, will be performing at this year's festival.

Guests in the international youth exchange program are young musicians from the Jaroslav Jezek Conservatory in Prague and the partner city Novi Sad. The performances of the East West European Jazz Orchestra and the GBJA Big Band with international guests and their international youth exchange and youth education programs form the highlight of the second evening.
