100 days, 100 posters - under this motto, around 50 students from Dortmund and Cairo spent a semester exploring the possibilities of poster design. For them, 100 Poster Battle meant designing a new poster every day, inspired by current events and social discussions. The aim of the project is for the students to experiment with a wide variety of techniques and forms of expression and to test the limits of design. The focus was on the topics of tourism and gentrification, which had to be addressed by everyone. This resulted in an exchange of ideas, perspectives and designs.
The results have already been on display in Lisbon and Dortmund and are now being shown in a prominent position in the Neue Sammlung next to the Setzkasten at the entrance to the design tour. The presentation offers a selection of 108 posters in hanging textile panels, curated by the students themselves. The invitation to the exhibition takes place in the context of the large spatial installation "Paula Scher - Type is Image", which has been on display at Die Neue Sammlung - The Design Museum since June 2023.
