On Sunday, 25.08.2024, Dresden's allotment gardeners invite you to the eleventh allotment garden hiking day through Dresden's allotment garden sites.
The green hiking route will be opened at around 10 am. The starting point is KGV Schöne Aussicht (Räcknitzstr. 10, 01217 Dresden, stop "Stadtgutstraße" on line 85).
All Dresdeners who enjoy walking are invited to the starting allotment garden site from 9.00 am, where the association will provide its guests with coffee and sandwiches before the opening ceremony takes place at around 9.30 am.
A total of nine allotment garden associations will be visited on a route of around ten kilometers. Cake, sandwiches, ice cream and drinks await the guests at the allotment garden associations KGV Schöne Aussicht, Innsbrucker Straße, Achtbeeteweg, Höhenplauen and at the end of the route at KGV Räcknitzhöhe.
The barbecue with delicious sausages will be waiting at the finish.
"The participants have really earned their final snack, the tour is really tough this time," announces Frank Hoffmann, Chairman of the Dresden Garden Friends Association.
The 10-kilometre uphill and downhill route leads through Dresden's allotment garden sites in the area surrounding the Südpark. "Right next to the starting association, there is the Moreau monument and the Bismarck Tower to visit," explains Hoffmann. "We will also pass several playgrounds, so that families with children in particular will have fun."
Free admission is of course included.

The original event "Allotment garden hikers" has been attracting people to Dresden's allotment garden associations since 2011. Almost 700 kilometers have been walked during this time. In 2023, the route led along the "Blaues Band Geberbach" renaturation project. Despite the drizzle, around 150 participants set off on the walk together.
