Arnold Schoenberg is considered a leading figure in contemporary art music—and yet remains unfamiliar to many. To mark the 20th anniversary of 2x hören, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, one of the most important pianists of our time, performs Schoenberg’s piano music and, together with music educator Rafael Rennicke, explores its poetry, passion, and radical modernity.
