Young literature lecturer Gabriel moves to Rio de Janeiro: in the trendy bar Glória, where the queer neighborhood meets the sex workers of the surrounding streets, he finds the family he has always been looking for. He falls in love with the escort Adriano, who opens up an exciting but also dark new world for him. When Adriano suddenly disappears, Gabriel embarks on an obsessive search in which he not only puts himself in danger.
In feverish, seductive images, director Felipe Sholl (Teddy Award at the 2008 Berlinale for his short film TÁ) shows the force with which the longing for closeness can turn into self-destructive obsession - and how queer families of choice offer protection and warmth, especially in hopeless situations.
