KiEw

What happens when you put a whole table full of effects, controllers, mixers, synths and grooveboxes between a bass and a guitar? Then KiEw from Lüneburg are sure to take to the stage in no time and set off a firework display of danceable sound between Dadaist electropunk, rhythm'n'noise and breakbeat-laden industrial techno. KiEw have been on the world stage for 35 years, but that doesn't make them any less interesting or worth seeing, because they have lost none of their energy and rawness, nor have they ever adapted their sound to common clichés or scene-specific ideas. When they play at Hafenklang in February, they will once again present their unique independence: It will be loud, rhythmic and danceable!
KiEw were founded 35 years ago in December 1990 at Kotze im Einkaufswagen-Universum in order to parody common band clichés in a Dadaistically crashing way. With tapes limited to 10 copies, a refusal to play live and the aim of not losing themselves in small-town musician's mundanities, KiEw set off. Three years and many persuasions later, KiEw finally took to the "stage" at a friend's birthday party. Another 45 minutes later, the "never performing live" was thrown overboard for good and KiEw traveled the world in the years that followed. A certain penchant for birthday parties and anniversaries has always been part of this, which is why the years 7, 15, 20, 23, 25 and 27 were celebrated excessively at Hafenklang, among other venues. In December 2025, despite having their own DIY label "Fischfleischplatten", the studio albums have become somewhat rarer, but KiEw are all the more present on stage. So now the trio, now well matured but by no means wiser, is celebrating 35 years at Hafenklang Hamburg on February 6, 2026 with a wild party with lots of friends and a unique anniversary show! As if it were the last time, Getting Angry, closing time and out! We'll see what comes next.

PHILIPP MÜNCH and MANDELBROT
(Ritual Industrial, Bielefeld)
Mandelbrot have existed since 1994 to create and explore dark, ambient soundscapes. Originally founded by Philipp Münch, Barbara Teichner joined as a congenial partner in 2004.
Since then, the project has been an integral part of the Audiophob label, including several CD releases and occasional live concerts.
Because the two missed the oldskool industrial beyond power noise, the project 'Philipp Münch' was launched in 2011. Since then, they have also been making a name for themselves in this direction and have released several CDs on the iconic Ant-Zen label. At some point, the two discovered the work of Philipp's first band 'ARS MORIENDI' (1989 - 1994) and brought it into the present day.Currently, the two bring all these things together live: Dark Ambient, Electropunk, Ritual Industrial and Distorted Techno.With the help of grooveboxes, metal percussion, synthesizers and vocals, they create an intense mixture with many unexpected twists and turns and mostly excellent danceability.

ACTION:FIASKO
(Electropunk with a Berlin muzzle, Berlin/Erfurt)
Aktion : Fiasko is the name of the electropunk duo from Berlin & Erfurt, which began in late 2019 with producer Sebastian Schleinitz (Full Contact69, Proleturan, among others) and frontwoman Franzi Berlina. The German-language project can probably best be described with the words "critical, snotty & different", as it is difficult to pigeonhole it musically. Electronic punk in a broader sense with a symbiosis of punk, electro, NDW and more or even electro with a Berlin muzzle.
With female vocalists and socially critical lyrics, both of which are quite underrepresented in the darker electro scene, this is intended to hit precisely that missing nerve.
Since 2022, the duo has already been able to show how electronic punk with a cheeky feminine Berlin muzzle presents itself on stage in various clubs and festivals.

MACHINE WARRIOR KR52

One of the harder acts on HANDS is Maschinenkrieger KR52 - active under this name for over 20 years. Pitching down Atari Teenage Riot and listening to it over the top on destroyed speakers might give you an idea of what to expect: The live performances are dominated by brutal rhythms, intense basslines and noise attacks - which will blow your heavy thoughts out of your skull until only a smile remains.

BASS+ARTS

bass+arts are an idiosyncratic cross-genre combination consisting of two basses that often play against each other and are driven by live drums. Self-recorded and programmed samples complement and complete an unusual sound that is somewhere between punk, gothic and industrial. The new Black Bats EP is a combination of the influences that make bass+arts' sound so unique, the ambitious songwriting and the social criticism and exploration of personal themes that are always present in bass+arts' songs.

The duo - founded by LILU HERLAMBANG aka A.V.SUALS & DR. NEXUS somewhere in Berlin's nightlife - creates dissonance, not just as noise or visual disruption, but as a phenomenon rooted in an inherited imbalance. Disturbances, distortions and signal failures are treated as raw material revealing the negative space of communication - errors are welcomed as a form of expression.
The result is an audiovisual experience characterized by absence, interruption and unresolved
harmony, with dissonance becoming a method of revealing what lies beneath.

NAOMI SAMPLE & THE GO GO GHOSTS

"The club becomes a playroom when Timmo, Nolde Royal and Naomi Sample enter the room to fill it with their 8-bit and electro-junk hardware.
The very first bleep should bring back memories of repressed arcade experiences. The beats sound like Pacman's feeding frenzies, the melodies like Tetris and the vocals of front man Timmo bring back the rigid face of your first toy robot. The Commodore 64 serves as the main source of sound, while Nolde and Naomi are competing with their keyboard instruments from days gone by. Woolworth's and the flea market trader also contribute to the planning experience, because "toys that make noise" can be found everywhere. The Duracell bunny can pack its bags, because the three crunchy guys from Lüneburg show what a real battery is. Plastikpunk floods the place. The verbal content is also playful and rebellious. There is talk of bare
feet, racing driver memoirs, hairy children's faces and video games. As Grandma Lydia used to say so beautifully: "You can't go wrong!" And this anarchistic night-time entertainment, yes... it does!"
That was the case around 12 years ago. The trio has now been around for 21 years. Everything is a little more reserved, but not a meter smarter. Let yourself be entertained by 3 jokers who have never been too good for self-irony and semi-professionalism and show it off unabashedly.

UDO WIESSMANN
We are pleased to present UDO WIESSMANN, a pioneer of electronic music, once again as a DJ in Hamburg. UDO WIESSMAN began producing electronic music in the late 80s and launched the HANDS label in 1990, which is still influential today. In 1991 he founded the rhythm and noise pioneers WINTERKÄLTE, whose sound is characterized by brute beats and twisted electronic sounds and distortion. UDO WIESSMANN's DJ sets are a unique experience on the dance floor: a thrilling mix of industrial techno and rhythm'n'noise refined with live double drops of electro, EBM and more. He was recently a guest at Dark Infection in Munich, HANDS Label Night in Berlin, SSM and EDDT in Mannheim, NHR in Leipzig, Beats And Noise in Oberhausen and Musique Electronique in Nuremberg. Look forward to DJ sets between Industrial, Techno and Rhythm'n'Noise that combine creativity with concentrated energy!
