Hafenklang is the last bastion of subculture on the otherwise completely gentrified Altonaer Hafenkante. In the former horse stables at Große Elbstraße 84, underground music pulsates in all its diversity on two floors - the hall and the Goldener Salon: post-punk, indie, metal, hip hop, techno, drum 'n' bass, electro, punk, hardcore, noise, experimental and much more.

It was and still is important to Hafenklang to try out new things. The city's first dubstep and grime parties took place here. The club was and is home to the now internationally renowned Garageville, Get Lost, Booze Cruise, Moonbootica, Rock & Wrestling and Drumbule formats.
