On Shrove Saturday, February 14, 2026, the Münchner Kreis für Volksmusik, Lied und Tanz e.V. invites you to the traditional Münchner Redoute for the 35th time in the Altes Rathaussaal Munich from 7:30 pm. The festive ball event is based on a centuries-old dance tradition that Franz Mayrhofer revived in 1984 and which has been held in the Old Town Hall since 1988 with the support of the Department of Culture. Accompanying the Redoute, dance courses are offered with dance master Katharina Mayer, in which waltz, polka, boarischer and Munich francaise as well as basic steps of standard and Latin American dances are taught. The courses are particularly suitable for beginners, but are also open to experienced dancers.
