40 Jahre Bahnhof Langendreer - Kommt vorbei und feiert mit uns!
In the organizer's words:
40 Years of Bahnhof Langendreer! 40 Years of Sociocultural Life!
In July 1986, the bar at the train station opened; in December 1986, Bahnhof Langendreer launched; and two years later, endstation.kino followed—but the origins of this sociocultural center date back as far as 1981. At that time, a broad social movement was fighting for an autonomous cultural center in Bochum—including through factory occupations. After years of conflict, some of the activists associated with the Rotthaus set their sights on the dilapidated train station on Wallbaumweg, which the railway company wanted to tear down. The city took over the building from the railway company and handed it over to the Bahnhof Langendreer initiative for renovation and use; planning began in 1984, and renovation work started in 1985. Since 1986, Bahnhof Langendreer has offered a diverse and ambitious cultural program: live music from the “Global Sounds” genre, as well as singer-songwriters, hip-hop, rock & indie, political cabaret, readings, and sophisticated comedy. Political topics also have a firm place in various event formats, series, and projects.
A selection from all areas of the program will be featured this year at our big anniversary celebration on Saturday, August 29, 2026, starting at 3 p.m., to which we cordially invite you. Free admission.

DA CRUZ
DA CRUZ—the band led by Afro-Brazilian singer Mariana Da Cruz—takes you on a journey to modern-day Brazil, a country teetering between revolution and resignation. The band has channeled all the anger and joy, all the hope and despair, into incredibly danceable songs. The songs address hidden racism, the alienation between politics and the people, and economic inequality—and, of course, some of them are simply about love in these tough times. Baile Funk meets Afrobeat, dub, and hip-hop.
