Thistle Sifter
Cinematic post-rock project by English musician Pete Barnes, who lives in Utrecht/Netherlands. "Forever The Optimist" (release date 06.02.2026) is Barnes' new and most ambitious work to date, giving his ever-growing oeuvre a more eclectic and symphonic sound. While previous albums "A Spectral Moon" (2022) and "Circles" (2024) focused on personal struggles with health, acceptance and letting go of the past, "Forever The Optimist" deals with existential issues caused by man's neglect of the natural environment and fellow human beings in his pursuit of infinite growth. Heavily inspired by writers Jay Griffiths, George Monbiot, Omar El Akkad and Siddharth Kara, the eight compositions address topics such as land use, animal rights, cobalt mining in the Congo, climate change, neoliberalism and the media's complicity in genocide. Each track on the album is accompanied by thematic images. Thistle Sifter have wowed audiences across Europe with their immersive audiovisual live experience in recent years, including at their first performance at Glockenbachwerkstatt in April 2024. The live line-up consists of Pete Barnes (guitar & synthesizer), Nils Breunese (guitar), Alex Rushmer (bass & synthesizer) and Koen Klarenbeek (drums).

Alago
Alago is an instrumental post-rock band from Innsbruck and was founded in 2020 by Simon Hinterwirth (drums), Florian Meiseleder (guitar) and Fabian Haider (bass). In 2025, guitarist Filippo Sturaro joined the band and expanded the project into a quartet. Alago's sound combines calm, atmospheric soundscapes with powerful, driving riffs and strong dynamic contrasts. The music is characterized by the band's alpine habitat - massive mountain ranges, changing weather conditions, fog, silence and vastness - and invites the audience on a sonic journey full of space, emotion and individual interpretation. Musically, Alago are oriented towards artists who can be located between post-rock and heavier instrumental genres.
